Director of Development
Ben’s Bells is hiring a Director of Development. Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director, the Director of Development will spearhead fundraising and earned income efforts to facilitate the growth of Ben’s Bells.Reports to: Executive Director
Director of Development Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute Ben’s Bells’ annual fundraising plan and donor stewardship plan
- Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations
- Manage the implementation of the donor database and oversee staff responsible for data entry and gift processing
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors
- Oversee organization of special events
- Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising
- Develop strategies and identify opportunities to earn revenue via programming
- Identify grant opportunities and work with grant committee to apply for mission-centered grant funding
- Supervise Marketing Specialist to strengthen community outreach via social media and earned income opportunities (mission-related merchandise, etc.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in management or related field required. Master’s degree preferred
- A minimum of 3 years experience in nonprofit development activities (fundraising, donor stewardship, appeals, etc.)
- Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
- Excellent writing skills: specifically the ability to clearly and effectively make a case for program support
- Experience in budget creation and management is essential
- Competency in utilizing donor databases
- Prior experience with the delivery of community programming is desirable
- Bilingual skills helpful but not required

Compensation
The salary range is $40-45k depending on experience.
