Welcome Kind Colleagues

“Kindness is something that we can all practice together and get better at.”

The Ben’s Bells Kind Colleagues program is a unique approach to creating a kind and engaged workplace by strengthening the culture from within. It utilizes evidence-based principles for developing and honing social-emotional skills and provides a month-by-month framework that businesses and organizations can use to create a kind and effective work environment. Research demonstrates that a kind workplace reduces employee stress and increases productivity. This positive work climate benefits all stakeholders of an organization.

Integrating intentional kindness practices into the workplace supports individual employees, builds team connections, strengthens departments, supports positive workplace culture, and strengthens the organization overall. In other words, kindness is good for the individual, the organization, and, ultimately, the bottom line!

Kind Colleagues materials are designed to be adaptable and we acknowledge that the program will be used in diverse contexts and social locations, and therefore our materials were created to be used as a jumping-off point to be modified to fit your time and needs. Creating a culture of kindness establishes a kind environment where everyone can benefit from the many positive impacts of intentional kindness.

Why Kind Colleagues?

The Harvard Business Review reports that “Organizations benefit from actively fostering kindness. In workplaces where acts of kindness become the norm, the spillover effects can multiply fast. When people receive an act of kindness, they pay it back, research shows — and not just to the same person, but often to someone entirely new. This leads to a culture of generosity in an organization.”

Kind Colleagues is a fresh, impactful approach to creating a kind and engaged workplace by strengthening the culture from within. Using evidence-based principles, Kind Colleagues helps organizations build kindness skills, reduce employee stress, and improve overall connectedness and productivity. The program includes individual, group, and organization-wide exercises in practicing kindness recognition, active gratitude, and intentional kindness towards oneself, one’s peers, one’s community, and one’s overall environment. Practices and activities are intended to be embedded into the daily routines of the workplace, becoming a “way of life” for the workplace community.

Kindness is a universal human need, and Ben’s Bells has been enormously successful in engaging diverse participants in our programming. Individuals from all walks of life contribute to our mission by volunteering in our studios, installing kindness murals in the community, recognizing kindness in themselves and others, spreading the message of kindness on their cars (via the signature “be kind” bumper sticker), and so much more.

Dr. Pragya Agarwal reminds us that “A positive workplace culture improves teamwork, raises the morale, increases productivity and efficiency, and enhances retention of the workforce. Job satisfaction, collaboration, and work performance are all enhanced. And, most importantly, a positive workplace environment reduces stress in employees.” Together, we are building your kind culture!”
